Can’t play Roku on my iphone

Roku is playing fine on my television, but when I want to watch the show on my phone, it doesn’t play. Instead, it just turns my phone into a remote to control the TV. I attempted to add my phone as a device, but the only option my tv allows is to add the remote as an option. Can I get my Roku show to play on my phone? If so, how? It seems my phone is connected to the account because I can see my “recent” show as an option, but it won’t play on my phone! HELP!!

Re: Can’t play Roku on my iphone

@LadyBugAnita-

The Roku app on a phone is primarily an alternative remote control.  It doesn't turn your phone into a full fledged Roku device.

It does however have an additional feature that enables you to view content from THE ROKU CHANNEL on your phone.  When you click on a show to watch you will be given an option "Watch now on mobile".

I don't have any premium channels through Roku to check, but reportedly you may only have access to actual ROKU CHANNEL content, not premium subscriptions you normally view through The Roku Channel on a Roku TV or device.
