Is there a way to set up wifi connection to Roku on the browser so it's connected to same wifi as phone to use app as remote since I don't have one. Thanka
No.
The WiFi Direct remotes will communicate directly to the Roku during setup.
The remote within apps and browsers connect via the network. They don't communicate directly to the Roku. They see the Roku on the network and communicate that way. Which means the Roku has to be on the network already in order for apps and browsers to see them. That's why you must have a remote to connect a Roku to a network.
