Why do I have a feeling this is a cookie cutter response and the actual OP was not read. Responses like this from various companies often go unanswered.
Here's the requested info. Please take this to your devs and correct the issue.
The problem occurs across multiple roku devices of multiple types and is not an issue on the roku.
Android app version 8.1.0.905869
(Current as of this post. Checked play store just prior to typing this.)
Steps to reproduce: use roku device to launch any content. While playing, open android app. You may need to pick the device content is playing on. As soon as the app is opened or the on screen remote is selected, the audio jumps from the tv to the phone speaker.
Thanks for the post.
Can you please clarify the issue you are experiencing?
How are you first accessing the content on your Roku device? Are you using the remote that came with the Roku device or the Roku mobile app? If you are using the remote to first access the Roku device, why are you using the mobile app after playing the content? Does this issue occur when you use the Roku mobile app to control the Roku device from the start?
With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
How are you first accessing the content on your Roku device?
Usually from the remote.
Are you using the remote that came with the Roku device or the Roku mobile app?
Usually the remote.
If you are using the remote to first access the Roku device, why are you using the mobile app after playing the content?
usually because I set the remote out of reach or the phone is already in my hand. This is an expected normal user action. If this user action was not planned for in development, this thread in itself indicates a need.
Does this issue occur when you use the Roku mobile app to control the Roku device from the start?
I don't think so but not expecting a response, I have not yet tried. Content is already playing audio from the tv in order for the event to occur.
When I start from the remote, then use the app, it happens.
Thanks for the reply.
