The Roku app remote on the telephone keeps turning the television on by itself about every 10 minutes. Very irritating when it's the middle of the night and I'm trying to sleep.

This one is strange, haven't seen such things, are you sure it is due to Roku remote if yes try disabling it for a day and see if tv still gets turn on.
