@albiek1976

Thanks for the post.

Can you please specify the issue you are experiencing? What Roku model device are you connected to? Please be aware that some Roku model devices will not have the functionality of controlling the volume with the Roku mobile app.

Thanks,
Danny

Re: Android remote app and volume

4660x2 . Android App version 8.0.2.833404

I do not have any way of changing my TV volume with the app.

I thought at one time on the app, on the bottom were three additional buttons and it had volume control functions.

Here's what I haveapp with no volume controlsapp with no volume controls

@albiek1976

The Volume and Power Controls in the mobile app will only be present if you have a RokuTV.  In the Android app, these volume and power controls will be absent when using a Roku streaming device attached to a TV.  (need to use your Roku or TV remote to control volume).

The app is still good for navigating, opening channels/apps, accessing subscriptions, and the Private Listening feature (attached headphones or bluetooth headphones/earbuds).

The original Android version app did have those volume and power controls which appeared regardless of whether RokuTV or hdmi attached Roku device, but still only worked with the RokuTV.  The newer version now hides the volume/power buttons when connected to hdmi Roku devices and will be visible when connected to a RokuTV.  (probably to avoid confusion).

Re: Android remote app and volume

I'm not happy with that. But, Thanks for sharing.  I'd like to see development add volume features for non-roku televisions added into the future roku android app.

Re: Android remote app and volume

Totally agree. The app should at least offer a mute function if volume and switch off/on are too complicated or unavailable programmatically. Otherwise I'll have to dig for the remote of the TV or the Roku for these functions and that kind of defies the purpose of having the app...

Re: Android remote app and volume

Silly that the app cannot transmit volume control to a roku device in this day and age of arc and hdmi-cec. At least to the newest ones 4k, 4k+, etc. Software is certainly capable. Remotes ask to verify tv brand and test volume. No reason app can't, right?

Bummer for us customers....:-(

Re: Android remote app and volume

I just brought  Roku 4K  2 months back. I have samsung tv. The app is doing everything but the volume.

Is there a update to the App to have a button for volume.  This is basic any streaming App should have
