Roku 2 box - model 4205X1 issues

Hi.

never had any issues with this Roku 2 box. Had it for as long as I can remember. However today I opened the Netflix app and nothing would play. Other apps like YouTube worked absolutely fine. So I uninstalled Netflix and it still didn’t work. So I reset the box to factory settings. However when I type the password to connect to my WiFi, the box won’t connect.

anyone have any suggestions?

thanks.

Re: Roku 2 box - model 4205X1 issues

At least in the US, Roku never sold a 4205. There was a Roku 2 model 4210. That player is now ten years old, and while Roku still officially supports it not all service providers do. Here again, Netflix does show it still supports the 4210.

From your issues connecting the reset box back to your network, it's sounding like the box has finally given up. As I said, if it's the 4210 it's now 10 years old, which is ancient in the home electronics world. For $40 you can get a Roku Express 4K+ that runs circles around your Roku 2, as well as supporting 4K and all the current services.
