I am Vietnamese and using iPhone 8, currently I am in Malaysia. I tried to download roku ios app in both country Viet Nam and Malaysia, but it shows that app is not available for country or region. How could I download roku remote app?
Thanks for the inquiry.

Might I ask what is the reason lead you to release ios app for only certain locations?
May be Roku will try to have more countries in the list to have more sales for its products, I didn't know it's restricted. Thanks

I really don't understand this policy. For the channels, Roku uses the excuse that the providers are the ones responsible for making them available in the new countries. But here, Roku is the provider.
Why isn't the Roku iOS app available in more countries?
Thanks in advance...
The usual reason that some channels are not available everywhere has to do with content licensing. The owners of the content (not always the channel creators) must have licensing agreements in place for each country.
What makes it even more complicated, it that licensing agreements are often separate for over-the-air broadcast, streaming to a computer, streaming to other phones, streaming to smart TVs, and streaming via set-top boxes like Roku. It sounds ridiculous, but that's the way it is.
I actually understand that. I would say that the gating should be done by the channel itself not by it's availability in the store. But that is me...
But the question is about the Roku iOS app. Why is it only available in a very restricted number of countries? Why can I install it in my phone?
