Hi,
Thanks for letting us know about the issue that you are experiencing.
The Roku mobile app turns your mobile device into a control center for your Roku streaming player or Roku TV. The app also allows you to launch channels, navigate the Roku interface, and search and issue commands with your voice, you can also share personal photos and videos on your TV, listen privately with your headphones. You cannot stream 3rd party channels through the Roku mobile app—this functionality is only supported for The Roku Channel.
For more information regarding the functionality of your Roku mobile app on your mobile device, please feel free to visit our support page: How do I install the Roku® mobile app?
Thanks,
Danny

Just connected Roku Express to living room tv. I also set app on cell phone. after 48 hrs of setup the remote appeared on phone. I open Roku on phone select a channel and it goes to remote face. cannot watch shows on phone, even though wifi, roku, and cell have same sign in and password. How can I remove remote from phone?
If you thought you could watch your Roku on your phone via the Roku app, you were misinformed. It is simply another option for a remote control, although as Danny mentions you can also stream items from your phone to the Roku.
To remove the remote from your phone, just uninstall the app the same as any other app on your phone. There's nothing to remove from the Roku itself.
Your website says that apps under " My Channels" can be removed by long pressing them but I cannot remove any of my channels with the Roku Mobile App. Long pressing does nothing.

The iPhone can tell how hard you're pressing the screen, and if you apply too much pressure the phone thinks it's something other than a long press. Try a real light touch on the screen. I just tried it on my iPhone XR and a gentle long press opens in info page that has a button to remove the channel.
@rmsalt Thanks for the note here. Are you using an Android or iOS device? What model of phone and version of Android/iOS is it running? What specific version of the Roku mobile app do you have installed?
Thanks,
Tanner
I removed roku app from my phone but the remote feature will not go away. Please help me!!!
i watch movies on my phone all the time , when i turn roku app on , at the bottom it comes up roku, channel remote, media more.. i just tap the roku and movies pop up for me to watch.. just like it would on tv,,
A lot of people have hard time understanding IOS and Android versions. I suggest to anyone who wants to install ROKU app to simply install all apps available in App store and play store until you find the best one. I tried all of them and they work properly.
How do we find the "Roku Mobile App" in the App Store on our Phone 11 and 10? The only "Roku" search result is the "Roku Official remote", which does not work like the mobile app video shown on the Roku Support site. We have both a Roku Ultra 4660X and Roku Streaming Stick+ HE installed and registered on our account (just installed within the past 2 days).
