I have an old Roku 2500X unit I'm trying to connect with an LG smart TV via an HDMI cable. I received no message on the TV when I turned the ROKU on other than "signal not found." The Roku unit light is on and the unit is warm so its' getting power and the connections are good. Is it not recognizing my wi-fi? The Roku displays nothing on the screen. I'd appreciate any help you folks can provide: our grand daughter wants to watch Disney+!
First, double-check that your ancient 2500 will work with Disney+. Many old models do not support some of the newer channels. For example, AppleTV+ is not available on my Roku4, which is much newer than your 2500, which dates to 2012 and only supports 720p.
Per this Disney page, https://help.disneyplus.com/csp?id=csp_article_content&sys_kb_id=a168b614db4d40d03c0cf158bf96198e, Disney+ will not run on a Roku 2500.
So if Disney+ is your only reason for wanting to hook up the 2500, don't bother. Inability to run Disney+, though, would not prevent you from getting a display so if you still want to get this working you'll have to look further. I'm not sure it's worth a lot of effort for this outdated unit.
Thanks for your post. I'm ordering a new Roku unit, hopefully it will work with my five year old LG tv.
Thanks for your note. I'm getting a new Roku unit.
