Roku search results are based on ...

Jump to solution

It would be interesting to know the search results Roku lists after a user perform a search in the store for example , are based on what ?

channel title ?

channel description ?

video title ?

tags we use ?

so on ........

i think it would help any developer to know how to "optimize" a channel and/ or video for better results.

Thanks.

so , finally asked the Roku Partner Support about all this  , here is the answer

Currently the only things that can be used to search are channel names, content titles for mediaTypes "movie" and "series", and names (directors, cast, etc.). We don't support tags or keywords at this time and our search doesn't comb through descriptions.

Thank you,
Amanda
