"Speaking foreign language" obscures actual subtitles

I like to watch with subtitles on.

When I am watching a show with actual foreign language in it, and its own subtitles, Roku obscures the actual content with a useless "Speaking foreign language" message, to the extent that I can not see the real words.

How can I get Roku to NOT show me that?

Re: "Speaking foreign language" obscures actual subtitles

The Roku is not creating the captions. Those are coming from the media source. Roku can't control where they are placed, as the channel you are using (Netflix, Prime, etc.) controls that.

If it's "The Roku Channel", then you have a valid complaint with Roku, as they control that channel. But your Roku player has no control over caption display with any other channel.
