firmware 8.0.1 Build 4069

So my Roku  just auto updated to this firmware.. is this a good thing?
Anyone know what it adds or fixes? does it fix the Purple screen HDCP bug?

I got it too. Haven’t noticed anything different.

There’s still the bug where video OSDs are off center and fall off the screen a few pixels, which is annoying.

I noticed after updating to 4069 that Netflix previews are not causing a black screen after each selection.  I don't know if this is an improvement in 4069 or a change  in Netflix, but it is certainly a better  experience with the Roku auto display feature.

Fantastic! I haven't received this update on my Roku 4 yet. Can I ask you if the massive stutter issue with 25p (BBC and other overseas) content has been fixed?

No it doesn’t. The black screen is still there.

Re: firmware 8.0.1 Build 4069

Didn't expect the 2160/30/SDR issues would be fixed.  So I guess its reassuring that ROKU didn't get it fixed.  What they broke in this regards from V7 to V8 is still BROKEN.....

Why are you still here?  That said. . . everyone needs to dutifully test this out thoroughly and report back (before I let my Roku SS+, which works a treat at 4K HDR 60, update).

Why am I still here?

Cause I own a ROKU and ROKU can’t fix the FW they broke and I'd like the product I bought from them to work as they said it would.

Why are you here?  Did you want to lend support to my request to return to V7 firmware?

Re: firmware 8.0.1 Build 4069

No v7, but my Ultra just got an update to 8.0.1 4069 to...

8.0.1 4042.

If this becomes a trend, you may get your wish. FWIW, I've not experienced any significant issues with 4096 or 4042 the last time on either my Ultra (to HD TV via receiver) or Premier+ (to non-HDR UDH) .

Hardware: 4640RW (Ultra), 4630X (Premier+), 2 × 3500R (Stick) | Software: Android app

Well I checked again and this time I saw the black screen againSmiley Sad.  However, I also noticed that it had been "updated" to an older firmware (404x?) so I no longer have 4069.  I'm not convinced either way whether or not the black screen was fixed in 4069 but I'm hopeful that there will be a future update that has it fixed.
