I have noticed the last few days I had captions set to always on and I come back the next day and it's set to off
I tried it last night set it to always on came back just now and it was set to off

Are you referring to Settings > Accessibility > Captions mode ?

Or are you referring to a particular app/channel?

Re: captions setting wont stick

That is odd. I too have a Roku Ultra (model 4660) and it is set to Always On and has been that way for months.

What software version do you have?

Re: captions setting wont stick

I have the very same version and build on my Ultra/4660

Have you tried setting it to On Replay? Does that stick?

Also, does it reset after a reboot? Or just after an indeterminate amount of time (such as overnight)?

Re: captions setting wont stick

I'm having the opposite problem; the captions won't go off. When I go to Accessibility > Captions mode and check captions off -the captions still remain on.I have a Roku 2 since about 2012.It has worked well with caption off since I got it, but now - it's almost unwatchable; where captions fill the entire screen.Do I need a new Roku or what?

If you have the Roku 2 that's from 2012, I'd say yeah, you might want to upgrade. The newer boxes are so much better, and you'll get 100% channel compatibility.
Yeah, I got some Rokus.
