adding a theme question

If I add a theme from the website, where can I find it on my Roku?  I added the Garfield theme on roku.com but cannot find it anywhere on my Roku.

Same issue, but I found some more data. Keep reading. Oh, and there's a one-sentence summary at the bottom that might be helpful, but not satisfying.

On v9.0, it's Settings > Theme > Change theme

Yes. But, I noticed something else. When adding from https://channelstore.roku.com/ it shows as "Installed" immediately after. However, if I immediately go back to the Themes Page, it again offers the option to install (Add Channel). So, it's seems the add is failing.

In fact, all attempts to add a theme from the Channel Store on the Website fail, even those that are listed within the Roku's menu. For example, the "America's Pastime" theme shows as available on both the Website and in the Roku menu. Attempting to add it via the Website failed. It showed as "installed" but it wasn't. Refresh of the Web page offered the "Add Channel" option again. However, adding it via the Roku itself worked.

Removing it (as opposed to changing the theme to something else) put it the same state.

Changing the theme to something else caused it to reappear as not installed on the Website, but the Roku still showed it as one of "My Themes."

So, yeah, it's acting a little goofy. For now, the only way to successfully add a theme is via the menu on the Roku device itself, not via the Website.

The Website is problematic. Add themes via the device. Whether that's a glitch, or just how it works now and the Website is out of date, I don't know. But you have to use the Themes section of the Roku menu to add or change themes. If it's not there, it's not available, no matter what the online Channel Store says.

Re: adding a theme question

Is Roku aware of the fact that the themes on the website are not available on the actual Roku?

They might be aware and planning on fixing once they fix the unforseen bugs in os 9

We have no way of knowing if any Roku staff member has read this thread unless they reply.
