a curious question maybe the developers can answer

On my older TV I can turn off overscan for some devices including a Roku 3 and a Roku 4. but when I attempt to do so on a Roku Express(2017), Roku Premiere+(2018 model) or a Roku Streaming Stick+ the setting is grayed out.

My question is what did the developers do to change the device ID the TV sees that would change the setting to an unusable state and why? since this is a device identifier can it be changed in the OS to fix the issue or is it hard coded(this will be very disappointing but not surprising)

before anyone tries to say otherwise I do know it is something in the device identifier that effects this setting, I even hunted for the reason for this and on many TV sets if the device identifier is not set correctly the setting will not be available
