because of her string southern accent, my wife is frustrated by the search by voice function. But neither of us can figure out how to get to where she can type for a title, specifically on Prime, like we did on our old, ancient Roku.

What is the trick?

There's always a search somewhere, but it's not consistent.  On Prime it's the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen.  Press the Up arrow until you get to the top if you're not already there and then press the Left or Right arrow buttons to highlight the magnifying glass and press OK.
