We received a fairly beat-up Roku without any accessories so there's currently no way to power it up.

All the numbers on the bottom are mostly missing, although we can make out the first four digits of the serial number: C537. Being that there's not an official post that covers all the S/N-to-Model-Numbers it's a real struggle to figure out what this truly is.

By the looks of it, we'd say it's more-than-likely a 3710X. Is there anyway to possibly confirm this?

BTW, if we could compile one, would you like to see a list of S/N-to-Model-Numbers?

I used to log serial numbers in one of my channels and I've never seen one that starts with C5.  If it has a micro-USB input on it, just plug it into a USB power adapter and see what happens.

If it's "fairly beat up" it may well be an old model that no longer receives updates and doesn't include some of the enhancements added in later units and that many modern channel apps won't run without.

Looks as if the "fairly beat up" bottom has come from what ever adhesive(s) have been used to mount it (a number of times) and that it's been "scraped" clean, maybe mor than once.

It's taking power, but there's no HDMI signal out and we don't have a 3.5mm AV cable to test that port. We'll post what we find once we accomplish an output.

Took a while to straighten this little guy out.

It was taking power, but there was no HDMI signal out and we don't have a 3.5mm AV cable to test that port. 

It looked as if the "fairly beat up" bottom had come from whatever adhesive(s) have been used to mount it (a number of times) and that it's been "scraped" clean, maybe more than once. We cleaned the complete unit, including ports, with electronic parts solvent hoping to receive an output from the HDMI port, but with no luck. Then yesterday, once we ordered a 3.5mm AV cable for further testing, our luck changed.

After chasing our tails on-and-off over the week, it turned out we were using a bad HDMI cable the whole time.  :-(

It's a little newer than the believed 3710X. S/N C5 belongs to a 3910X, so it's only about 3-years old. It works well considering it was only $5.

In our research we compiled a list of two-digit serial-to-model numbers that cover known Roku boxes, excluding TVs and sound bars. We'll post it here shortly.
