Recently every time we open any program (ie Netflex, Roku, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime, it describes (talks) about what we are looking at. (ie: we click on Netflix & tells us how many streaming programs in system, describes options when we click on a movie. Tells the introduction, how long It lasts, what it is about.
We believe coming thru Roku as it talks to us know matter which streaming program we click on.
We have gone into Settings, Turn off/on Roku and still keeps talking and telling us what it wants to say about what we are doing. Very strange & hope someone here knows how to make it STOP talking to us. Thank you... BHL
Roku has something called a Voice Guide, which is of course designed for users with sight impairment. You likely accidentally enabled it by hitting the * button four times rapidly. You can disable it again with the same button press. You can also go into the Settings menu and turn it completely off, so the button press can't activate it again.
Thank you! Thought I was losing my mind!
Which button will disable the talking?

Pressing the * button four times quickly turns it on/off. You can completely disable it in the settings menu under accessibility/voice guide.
