With the TV off, if headset is plugged into the Roku Remote, the audio of the last viewed channel can still be heard. This indicates use of internet bandwidth even while not watching the TV. How can this be prevented (other than yanking the Roku Stick off the TV's HDMI port}? Thanks
Yes, that's right. Return the Roku to its Home screen when finished viewing. If you leave it on a channel it will continue to stream and needlessly use up your bandwidth. Even if your internet account doesn't have a data cap, unattended streaming taxes the whole distribution system.
Also, the headphone amplifier in the remote is active and eating up your batteries whenever the headset is plugged in, so it's best to unplug the headset when not in use.
