RFD Update

I am getting an update notice. Is this common and how long does it last?

Thank you for offering to help.  The message says:

"Don't worry we will be back. We are currently working on some awesome updates". This message does not allow me to use any of the channels. And it has been on the screen for days.

I have this stick on my mothers tv (not at my home) who is elderly and cannot help me try to remove this message. I am getting it brought to me and I will check it out on my tv.

Any help will be gratefully accepted.

Is this about the RFD-TV Now channel? Or does RFD mean something else in this context?  If it's a channel being updated, I would think that pressing the home button would get you to other channels.
