I have a 50” Roku Onn 4K tv that works fine. I just bought a sound bar/subwoofer media player that I want to use to amplify the sound of the tv. The sound bar uses composite (rca) cables (no hdmi) for audio in/out.
I cannot figure out what settings my Roku TV must be on to use the surround sound. Can someone help me with this?
What's the model number of the TV?
The model number is 100012585
Roku C801X
Software Version 9.4.0. build 4190-CM
Serial Number X000009U2A6K
Roku tv's only have rca inputs, they're not outputs, sorry. Only audio out on the roku tv is through hdmi-arc or optical.
Or the headphone jack.
You can't get true surround sound from 2 channel analog. The ancient Dolby Pro Logic process would synthesize rear channels, but virtually all streaming audio is Dolby Digital, which can't be passed via analog. You need digital audio to get the surround sound offered by modern streaming providers.
