This problem has been mentioned previously, but I haven't seen any good solutions. In my case I just started getting the overheated message yesterday. My unit is on top of a CD/DVD player that is off and is thus cool itself, which should provide a sufficient heatsink for the Roku unit, which itself is not hot but warm. If I let the Roku hang out in the air, I still get the message. No red light is on, so just what is the issue? Should the unit be replaced or what?
TIA,
Bill
Just started having the same issue...not hot but still getting message....annoying.
Have had Roku for almost a year. Started getting the same message today. The Roku is on top of the mantle, away from any other devices and not in the sun. The device is warm but not overly hot.
I have not experienced any interruptions either.
what’s the next step? I’m sick and tired of this message every 5-10 mins.
I've had my Roku Premiere for about 5 weeks. Worked fine for a month, but now it overheats within 30 minutes of use. Even when I first plug it in after a long rest, it starts at 70 degrees celsius according to the temp check screen. It's out in the open, not near a source of heat or sunlight. Any suggestions?
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the posts.
It's fairly normal for your device to get warm during use, but if you are seeing a message on screen mentioning overheating, there are a few things you can do to help.
For more information visit our Support page here: What should I do if the red light is on or I see a “Your device is overheating” warning?
If you are still experiencing an issue, please send me a PM (private message) with your Roku account email address, and include the serial number of the Roku device from Settings>System>About along with a summary of the issue you are experiencing. I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Danny
