Options button-- home screen

The home screen will not register the "options" button.

I've tried everything!

Please help.🙃

On the Home screen, the Options (*) button does nothing unless you have selected a channel tile. If you have a menu item highlighted, pressing the * button does nothing. Are you saying the button does nothing if you have a channel tile highlighted?

Note that by default the "Options *" indicator in the upper right corner of the Roku home screen is present but greyed out.  When you move the highlight to an item on the screen that has options, the "Options *" indicator will light up.
