Is it possible to transfer the Roku stick to another household?

Jump to solution

Good morning 🙂 I do not need my Roku stick anymore and would like to give it to a friend. Is this possible? Just delete my account and he can set up his own? Thanks a lot

Certainly, no problem. Go into the Roku settings menu and look for System Reset. This will wipe the Stick back to factory default and can now be configured by someone else on their own account. Also, log into your Roku user account (https://my.roku.com) and delete the device from your account as well. You still have your own account, and your friend will create their own.

1) Clear your info off your Roku device by doing a factory reset via Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset.   The person receiving the unit will then be able to set it up as a new device.

2) Belt-and-suspenders option:  Log onto your Roku account at https://my.roku.com, scroll down to your linked devices, and if the stick is still listed, unlink it.
