Invalid Mode error on my TV after Software Update

I'm having a similar problem with my Roku Stick+.  It will no longer interface with my TV.  I receive an Invalid Mode error on my TV.  It appears that the Roku Stick has changed the HDMI port resolution to 0, 0 and I can't get it to change to anything else.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: 11/14/20 Software Update: TV Won’t Turn On

@StickNewbieYou have a different problem.

When you swith to the HDMI port with your TV's remote (Source/Input)

you should see something Roku (purple on the screen).

You can try a factory reset find a pinhole reset button on the stick

and hold down the button with a paper clip for a good 30 seconds.

You should see something happening on the screen.

Re: 11/14/20 Software Update: TV Won’t Turn On

Thanks for the suggestion.  I was able to reset and enter the setup menu.  When it got to the autodetect of the HDMI port, everything checked out.  However, when it entered automatic mode, the screen went to "Invalid Mode".  This indicates to me that it is trying to tell the TV to change to an unsupported resolution.

It will not display at 1080p.  I can only get it to set up at 720p.

Probably because the TV will only work at 720p.

There really is not discernible difference between 720p and 1080.

Unless you have insect eyes. 720p is fine leave it thee.
