Do all new Roku Express HD units require a $69.99 update to connect to the internet (in my cast Xfinity has error code 009)?
Roku does not charge anything for registration or set up of their device. But there are scammers out there who charge for help. How did you find them?

Go.roki.com/link.
Without going through the setup again, I recollect that the 009 error articles were not helpful. I likely got the link from searching the internet for Roku error code 009. The retry and router cycle did not work.

That is not a Roku site. It is 100% scammers, so don't give them any personal information or payment of any kind. Unfortunately, web searches seem to come back almost 100% with scam sites.
The only site that you want is Roku.com. Their main site is www.roku.com, while you log into your Roku account at my.roku.com. There is NO other URL that belongs to Roku in the US. And even other country sites mostly still use the same URL but switch to in internal page based on your location as identified by your IP address.
