How can I get different channels installed on separate Roku devices?

Jump to solution

not sure if this has been chatted about before or not, really don't care nor have the ability to wade thru 1000s of posts.   I have two different roku devices a stick and a express+. One is upstairs and one is downstairs. Both are for different people. For example "On Demand Korea" is on the upstairs, but I don't want it on the downstairs device.  Amazon Prime is on the downstairs, but I don't want it on the upstairs. If one is removed, then it is removed from both.  Can't find the answer on how not to have each roku device to copy each other for channels.  Thank you.

found the answer but this was answered before I could get here to delete this. Sorry about that and thank you TannerD for the quick response.

@Anonymous  Thanks for reaching out! All channels are synced across any Roku device that is linked to your Roku account. If you wish to have different channel lineup on a separate Roku device, you'll need to factory reset the device in question to remove it from your current account, and link it to a separate Roku account.

You can see the steps for how to perform a factory reset on your device here: https://support.roku.com/article/208757008-how-do-i-factory-reset-my-roku-streaming-device-

See more information on how to create a new Roku account here: https://support.roku.com/article/115015595647-how-do-i-create-a-roku-account-

To link your device to a new Roku account, you can follow the steps listed here: https://support.roku.com/article/235180868-how-do-i-activate-or-link-my-roku-streaming-device-

Hope that helps clarify!

Thanks,

Tanner

This is a horrible decision by Roku.  I have multiple devices in multiple rooms in my house, and I don't want the same channels on all of them.  Telling me to make multiple accounts (that require multiple email addresses and multiple passwords is just a dumb response). It would make far more sense to have an option if you want to include the device in channel sync.  This is not a solution, but rather a cop-out response.

Maybe I will re-think my choice for streaming devices.
