Roku website says Express+ is Out of Stock. Support says they will email me when available, but I have little faith in that. Anyone here happen to know when this will be back in stock? I need a composite output, and this is it. (3910RW)
Never - its an older model from several years ago (2017).
Roku cleaned their remaining stock out more than a year ago, and wont be making any new models with composite output.
You'll need to find one elsewhere (ebay) or use a HDMI-> Composite converter.
Thanks, as I suspected. The website should not keep promoting it. Won't pay over $100 (or up to $200!) for used $30 retail device on eBay and elsewhere. For peculiar physical reasons in my situation a converter won't work.
If you go to https://www.roku.com/products/players or https://www.roku.com/products/compare it doesn't show up, but they haven't deleted the old page, so you can still find it via search engines.
If you look at customer reviews on that page, the most recent review is only a month old, so I suppose they're not going to delete the page until they're sure the very last ones are off the retail shelves everywhere. Among those reviews you'll also see many people asking for the product to come back, so I suppose they could be monitoring how many people still want such a thing.
This is where it's offered for sale: https://www.roku.com/products/roku-express-plus-2018
The "2018" is unnoticed in the url, and not shown in the promo material.
Yeah, that's the one I found too, but its not linked in from their home page, products page(s) etc. so I assume you got there by a search engine as I did, or an old bookmark. Webmasters often think that unlinking a page is all it takes to make it disappear, but it's not quite that simple. But at least it does now say: "Roku Express+ (2018) is no longer available" at the top.
Interesting thing, that page looks different now from when I sent the link. There was no disclaimer, and the price was there at $30. Maybe someone noticed the thread and changed things (?)
