Roku Device Features, Settings & Updates

I'm completely new to streaming in general.  I've looked over the various products offered on Roku's website.  I see the Roku Express is the cheapest device available.  What is the difference between that one and Roku Premier?

I don't know anything about Roku other than you can stream free TV channels through the device.  I don't paying a little bit more if the content is worth it.
