You have to perform a factory reset from Settings->System->Advanced system settings->Factory reset. It will restart as if it's a brand new device. You'll have to set up your own Roku account. Post back if you have problems and keep in mind there is no charge to set up an account or to use basic features. Watch out for scams!

Do a factory reset on the Roku to erase its memory then set it up again from scratch.
Did you get a working remote with the Roku? You'll need one to set up.
Factory reset by pressing and holding the reset button (depending on model may be behind a pinhole) for AT LEAST 30 seconds, then follow the prompts to set up. You'll get the chance to set up a new Roku account with your own email address or link to your existing account if you have one.
