Casting to a TV without wifi

I have a vacation cottage that I would like to be able to watch Netflix or Hulu at. I have data for my phone but no cable in the area so no wifi. Can I cast from my phone to a TV with Roku in this situation. Thanks

I don't believe you can cast via WiFi direct, but I could be mistaken. It would most likely be easier to activate a WiFi hotspot on your phone and just connect your Roku to that.

Also, keep in more nd that those apps generally “cast” by launching the app on the streaming device — whether Roku, Chromecast, or whatever — rather than actually re-streaming content from the phone. Screen mirroring would be a way to accomplish it, except that requires WiFi. Could set up a local network. But the phone hotspot is probably the better way to go. Unless your carrier throttles hotspots.
