Black Screen and lockup after update on NEW Roku Express?
Just purchased a Roku Express, it powered up, connected to our internet, then performed an automatic update which shut the ROKU down to nothing but a locked up black screen. Can not get anything to come up at all. This happened with two different devices, does ROKU have a fix for the update? Or a way around the locked up screen?
Couple of questions regarding the issue you are experiencing. Is there a light on the Roku device? How is the device powered? Is it plugged into the TV USB port or is it plugged into a wall outlet with the provided cable and adapter? Have you tried using another HDMI port on your TV as well as switching out the HDMI cable used to connect the device.
For troubleshooting purposes, have you tried connecting the device to another TV to see if you are experiencing the same issue.
