Here's an odd one that's a slightly different take on the News Feed removal others were asking about.
I had previously disabled the News feature from the main menu on my Roku Stick (4640). I had not disabled it from my Premiere (4620).
After the recent introduction of the "Featured Free" item on the main menu, which removed News, I have been unable to locate AOL On News app via the Channel Store (Steaming Channels) on any of the devices (Stick & Premiere). I do find it at the Website Channel Store (https://channelstore.roku.com) where it shows as "installed."
Additionally, the Premiere has been packed away for over a month, and I broke it out tonight to test this. It was running 8.0.1 build 4090.
As I hadn't disabled News on that device, the News item on the main menu was showing, but the AOL On app was not in the list of apps, nor was it found in the Channel Store on the device.
After forcing an update on the Premiere (to 8.1.0 build 4145), the News item (not previously disabled) disappeared, as expected, but the AOL On News app does not display. A re-check of the Channel Store (https://channelstore.roku.com) confirms it is "installed."
So, how do I get AOL On News back?
