Ever since I updated my ROKU Premier model 3920R to 9.2 the picture continuously cuts out, presents a black or green screen and then returns to programming. After disconnecting the ROKU and reconnecting my FireTV 1st generation player the issue goes away. It's clear that the ROKU Premier now has some kind of issue after updating to 9.2. Do I wait for ROKU to resolve this or ask for compensation under the two year warranty?
The condition you're experiencing sounds like the "Auto-Adjust Refresh Rate" setting might be enabled on your end.
Take a look at your settings.
Settings --> Advanced System Settings --> Advanced Display Settings
Now, once in Advanced Display Settings, take a look at the Auto-Adjust Display Refresh Rate setting. If it's Enabled, switch it off. Reboot the Roku.
If it's Disabled, I would temporarily Enable it, reboot the Roku. Then go back and Disable it again/reboot.
If that doesn't work, I'd be trying a different/better/new HDMI cable. I know, I know...it was working before, blah blah blah. But sometimes you gotta try what you gotta try.
I am experiencing the same thing - Everything is fine, then the picture goes snowy or black, but sound still continues. The snowy screen or black screen stays on for 1-3 seconds, then the picture returns. this will occur several times over the course of an hour or so.
I tried the recommended solution of changing the Auto-Adjust Display Refresh Rate to disabled from enabled, then rebooting. I tried that again, as well as changing the refresh rate from auto to 1080p (which is what my television is). The same thing continues to occur. In desperation, I tried the factory reset option and that did not solve the issue either. I will be looking into a return under warranty.
Agreed, I have the same issue unfortunately they literally have no one you can talk to for assistance. I want a refund.
Still nothing on this??? Mine just started today!!!!
Thanks for the post.
Can you please verify what OS your Roku device is currently running? The OS 9.2 is an older OS build.
Can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model
-serial number
-device ID
-software OS/version
(these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
With more information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
