I suspect the diagnosis screen is not reporting the correct temps for the new Roku stick. It usually is about 63c when in use. Seemed hot, so I tried using an HDMI extender with it, but still runs at about 62-63c. This is in a cool room that is about 67f. But then I checked it when idle on the gui, and noticed the stick idles at 58-59c. Therefore, I suspect that maybe these sticks report higher temps than what they are actually running at.
Yes I check mine on occasion. The room temperature where it is at is usually about 78f so my sticks temperature report is usually about 66-68c

My 3800X indicates 109 C after I got the error message on the screen. Trying to gauge the exterior temp of the stick with a meat thermometer (!), I measured about 130 F, so I don’t know. Even if the outside is really (with a proper thermometer) say 150-160 F, that’s still 65-70 C outside, so chip could be 175 F? More? 75-80-85 C? Is that danger zone? More importantly, what’s the remedy?
