Re: Video is fast on Web, slow on Roku? Url metadata below

You say it "does not stream". Does that mean it fails to play at all, or just that it buffers for a long time before playing? What if you just use the simplevideoplayer example and put your URL in there? I did that and the video starts in about 2-4 seconds. If it still takes a long time for you it may be related to your local network conditions.

Re: Video is fast on Web, slow on Roku? Url metadata below

Very Nice
Tried it on your server. Took an average of 7 seconds, 12 - 15 at times on my box
Uploaded it to my Amazon s3 took 4 seconds consistently.

Just moved it into my cloudfront and takes a little less than 3 seconds on average, under ideal conditions

Re: Video is fast on Web, slow on Roku? Url metadata below

Thanks the problem I am having is viewing or downloading the video through my Roku dev Channel.
Downloading from the web works great but a download from my Dev Channel is taking about half a minute
or more.
Here is the XML file for this video which is Coffee blues,
My channel is a instructional channel on Delta Blues.
I have about 30 videos which most are under 10 minutes long
with a file size of somewhere between 100 to 200 megabytes.
I am sure there is no clues in the
XML file below, would be fantastic if there was.
Thanks
Kevin

Thanks NewManLiving do you mean you downloaded the file then uploaded it to Amazons
cloud environment and it worked great, if thats the case maybe I should
switch to Amazons Cloud service?

Thanks for your help,
Kevin

Re: Video is fast on Web, slow on Roku? Url metadata below

Yes that's what I did Since I'm developing a 2d application I just inserted the original Url coming from your CDN and my cloud front CDN once I uploaded your video into my S3. I'm using roVideoPlayer and not roVideoScreen. But as far as I know there should not be a difference. I also left my current settings intact which defined a 128k bitrate. So like I said. From your CDN it took the longest and it was about the same from my browser. When I uploaded your video to my s3 bucket it took on average about 3 seconds. When I switched to my cloudfront which is associated with that bucket it was the fastest under 3 and frequently 2 seconds. I would try using Amazon s3 and cloudfront. There is a free tier which is very generous

I PM your message folder with the cloudfront directory. At least you can load it from mine to see if that is your problem before going through the trouble of setting up an s3 and then associating it with a cloudfront
