Giving my channel a test run.

In a few weeks I'm going to do a test run on a larger scale, but for right now, I just want to do a few people so I can make sure I don't have bugs in my Roku program, or my server side scrips. On the front end and back, I want to check;

-Registration process is working beyond just me
-Video ratings are registering
-Streams are consistent for the server settings I've selected
-Pinpoint any other problems thru my logs and user feedback.

Re: Giving my channel a test run.

Just a FYI on the first part before Registering.

Tried Get New Code after adding channel and no new code displayed. Then backed out and clicked icon again and freezes and I have to go out of the channel and back in to get another code.
The Graphics for Main Icon and Splash Screen does not show the word Television, but Televisi on my 36" SD. Maybe fit the words into the graphic unless that's how you want it to be. I have a Roku 2 XS at 4.8.

Thanks,
DA

Awesome. I tried it with two different boxes and didn't seem to have a problem. I have no idea what the problem is. I'll have to try and figure that out.

You can try the registration process again by deleting whatever key you have in the roku registry and removing the entry from your server side.

Re: Giving my channel a test run.

yeah, that's what I figured I'd have to do. is there anyway to do that other than putting a delete function in a few version of the program and running that?

I think I fixed it. I made some database changes and forgot to reflect that on my end.

Sure - you could remove any private/public channels that use your packaging devID, when all of them are removed then the registry keys are removed.
Deleting the Dev App itself should remove the keys for that if you are using it for testing.
Defaulting the Roku box will clear everything.
Or you could put in the delete function into your channel app, and before deleting the keys check the serial number of the roku to make sure it only works on your device.

It sounds like you got it fixed already - but these are just a few choices I can think of if you need to do something like that later.

Re: Giving my channel a test run.

it's all fixed. I had some people try and start it up and couldn't register.
