Enabling Developer Mode HELP!
I am trying to enable Developer Mode on my first Roku which is a HD.
I searched the internet and all the posts say the same thing about the series of keys to hit on your remote which the end result should cause a special "Developer Settings" screen to come up, which offers you the option to enable (or disable if it's already enabled) the installer.
I've tried this more times then I want to admit with no special screen.
I sure could use some help as the reason I got this was to help my friend program.

Re: Enabling Developer Mode HELP!
Is the remote working well with good batteries? I just did this today on an older roku and it worked normally.
(starting on the Home screen) Home 3x, Up 2x, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right
Press them deliberately one at a time, it should work. If not maybe try a factory reset?

Are you using a physical remote, or a remote app on a smartphone? The key sequence to enable developer mode does not work from the smartphone apps.
Just to verify, this is the code you're trying:
Home button x 3It should be entered starting from the Home screen, and with cadence of about a 1/2 second between button pushes (it's hard to be specific, other than not too fast and not too slow).
Up x 2
Right, Left, Right, Left, Right

Re: Enabling Developer Mode HELP!
Thnx to all the replies.
This is a brand new Roku and it is with the remote that came with it.
I am really a newbie to all this I have tried the sequence everyone quotes
3 home
2 up
right, left, right, left, right.
But nothing appears or changes on the screen other then the channel icons going left or right.

Re: Enabling Developer Mode HELP!
How slow or fast are you entering the code? You should be waiting no more than a second between key presses.

Is your Roku paired with the remote?

Re: Enabling Developer Mode HELP!
MMM I've done this on my Roku 1 which just brings me to a list of all installed apps / channel info list, but nothing else... I've even tried to browse to it via http:// from the PC with no avail either.... Anyone have any luck??

If you're getting the list of installed channels, you're pressing HHHUULRLRL instead of HHHUURLRLR.
