My first and only model of Element, got from Woot, responded to the Toshiba tv codes. I would check with major tv brands, Toshiba, Lg, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Sony, and Samsung. Many other brands use their codes.

I ran into the same problem.  Here is a step by step (from memory, so not exact):

1.  Roku Settings

2. Remote and devices

3. My remote

4. Configure volume and power for remote.

5. Walk through the prompts to try out ALL 11 codes.  This will fail.

6. When the failure message appears click 'Try Again'.

7. At this point (and only at this point), you can enter the TV Brand.  Type in "Toshiba".

8. It will prompt you to try out the codes.  For me, it worked on the 2nd or 3rd code.  The music muted I clicked YES and I was done.

Using "Westinghouse" brand and choosing "Code 12" worked for me

I had the same problem, but your suggestion to change the BRAND worked like a charm.  I changed my brand to samsung and the power, volume work perfectly now on my voice remote. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Thanks so much for sharing this. I was almost ready to send it back haha. The Toshiba code worked perfectly.
