pairing a new remote to an old HDMI behind my tv

Solved by unplugging HDMI stick from TV and power for a minute, the reconnected and held remote close to stick after Roku booted back up.

We lost our roku remote to a behind the TV HDMI stick, model 3800X. The new remote has voice and the four hot buttons are; Netflix, Disney, apply and Paramount. Model RC-GZ1. I aim the remote directly at the HDMI stick for five seconds and nothing happens.

The RC-GZ1 remote is a recent Voice Remote issue that has no pairing button. They also have a tab you must pull out to engage the batteries.

To put these remotes into pairing mode after pulling the tab, press and hold both the BACK and HOME buttons near the top of the remote for 5 seconds or more.
