Won’t pair says remote is asleep

Last night I went to bed and remote was working just fine, this morning nothing. I have changed the batteries three times. I have restarted the stick at least four times by unplugging it and twice by using the app to restart it. When I go in with app into settings and go into remotes in about it says the remote is asleep. It tells me me to hit ok to wake it up, this does nothing. When I try to repair it the green light never flashes and when I try adding the remote it doesn’t even recognize there is a remote. Thankfully the app is working so I can use the app remote. I have tried to email a request for support and it said there was an issue to try again. Tried at least fifteen times never went through. Tried the chat and it just kept saying it understood my concerns. Hate to say I’m less than impressed with customer service so far. The last time this happened I just bought a new device which was about a year ago. Very disappointed overall to be dealing with this again.

@NightshiftRN

I've used the Roku Voice Remotes, but never the Voice Remote Pro. I've been using the Voice Remotes since they came out. That's been years. I've never had one "go to sleep."

Is it a Voice Remote Pro that you have? Or which remote do you have? Is it the some that came with your device? If so, what is the Roku model number? Settings > System > About

Re: Won’t pair says remote is asleep

It will say your remote is asleep if there's no batteries in it or, as I fear, your remote is dead.  If the pairing light doesn't come on when you press and hold the button it doesn't sound good.  The button can be a little difficult to depress, so make sure you're really pressing it and holding it for at least 5 seconds.

Perhaps @RokuDanny-R can help.

@NightshiftRN

Thanks for the post.

Can you please provide the serial number on your Roku device? I'll be able to assist you further from there.

Thanks,
Danny
