I bought a new Roku tv and just now connected the wired headphones to my remote and can’t get any sound at all. 
the headphones do work on another remote but not mine.

its the second set of new wired headphones I’ve tried to use and neither set works.

do I have a defective remote?

No audio is heard

• Confirm that the volume is not muted or too low to hear.
• When using wired headphones, check that they are firmly plugged in.
• If you have more than one Roku device, be sure to use the remote for the correct device.
