Hi.
I cut the cord. Yay for me. I have 2 Roku’ s in my abode.
One is like a premiere plus and has volume built into the side of the remote— a killer feature btw. The other, which was the step down, does not.
Can I buy another remote with the side volume control and use on the cheaper Roku?
Thanks in advance. For anyone who cares, my partner, who struggled with my last attempt at cord cutting using a fire and a Apple TV, is doing quite well with the Roku/YouTube Tv combo.
I am assuming the "step-down" is likely a Roku Express. Both of your Roku devices (Express and Premiere+) should be able to use either Roku's new Voice Remote or Voice Remote Pro. These remotes even have an additional "mute" button on them.

You can also buy these at Walmart, Best Buy, Target etc. as well as from Roku directly.
The original express 3700 and 3710 express+ can't use a wifi remote with tv controls, only IR roku remotes. Starting with 3900 express and newer they can be paired to wifi remotes.
For those with 3700 & 3710 roku's, and if you have tv cec feature, there is ONE model of roku IR remote that has roku cec tv functions built-in, it was only released with Onn Smart Soundbar. Hard to find, but you can buy one on ebay from china:

Bought two myself from them.
Oh yeah, forgot about the Express 3700/3710. So as long as the Express model is 3900, 3910, 3930, and 3931, both of the above remotes should work, correct?
I guess as long as you see an option to set up TV controls under Settings..Remotes & Devices..Remotes..Set Up Remote for TV Control that would be another indicator these should also work.
@karbomike --- Best to go to Settings...System...About [press OK or right arrow] and determine your model number of the Express.
Can I suggest you write a "reference" post with all your knowledge about the remotes all in one place?
Maybe also on wikipedia?
You really do know a lot!
