Approximately two weeks ago, my volume and power buttons stopped working. I’ve read all of the articles in the forum, and they’re not fixing the problem.
A few months ago, I had to purchase a new remote and I’m wondering if it’s a fake Roku remote. I have no pairing button, anywhere. When I try to choose my remote in settings, it just goes to the voice remote, which I don’t have. All of the troubleshooting steps begin with re-pairing the remote and I can’t do that, as I don’t have a pairing button. I’m completely stuck and really hoping someone can help me!
Only wifi roku remotes have tv controls, and ALL wifi roku remotes have pairing buttons. Yours doesn't have it then its just IR roku remote. But if also has tv buttons like power, volume and mute, then its probably an aftermarket remote, not true roku remote. It must of come with directions to program the tv in? The only true roku remote without a pairing key and has tv controls are Roku tv IR remotes, which are useless on stand alone rokus.
Thank you, as I was afraid the problem was the fake remote. Are you able to provide a list of vendors that sell legitimate Roku remotes? When I look on Amazon, it is very difficult to tell which are the real ones and which are the fake ones.

If you want tv controls then you need the roku Voice remote:
