Patthornson - When I was having my issues with my first remote, I would plug the charge cable into it when it froze with no charging block (just the cable alone) to unfreeze/unlock it. Maybe that’ll work for you in the interim while Roku is sorting things out for you. It’s a shame as Roku devices have been so rock solid for me in the past.
update on my situation - I called Roku and they did replace my remote with a new one. I sent the old one back so hopefully that’ll allow them to investigate and remedy the issue.
The new replacement remote doesn’t freeze like the old one, but also isn’t as responsive as other, battery-powered Roku remote I have for my older, much older Roku player (an old premiere +). I might just go buy another one of those $20 remotes to replace this rechargeable one. We’ll see.

Unbelievable, Sometimes when I just pickup the remote it goes crazy without touching any buttons.

none of these suggestions or steps solve the issue and it always comes back.
the only way to snap the remote out of it, is to plug it in for a few minutes.

I was sent a V1 rechargeable remote as a replacement for a faulty V2 remote and it works great. I don't feel replacing a V2 with a V1 was very fair, but it does work fine. However, no light up keyboard and it is not usb c.
Update;
I received the older V1 voice remote and have not taken it out of the package.
My Roku Ultra original RC1071 V2 has been working like it should except for 1 same issue, a few days ago, which was corrected by plugging in a USB-C cord (not charging) for a few seconds a couple times and the V2 is still working as of this moment… strange.
