@Tivoburkee Thanks. I had no idea that is was this simple to put the Roku into IR mode.
[NOTE: I actually have the Harmony 665]
I have used these Harmony remotes since 2018. I am not sure how long it has been since they stopped manufacturing new stuff. You can still get Tech Support. But, there are more limitations as the one I was confronted with.
Can you recommend any other Universal remotes of the same caliber as Harmony?
EDIT: Why did Roku provide IR output from the remote after removing power from the device itself?
FredCSmith:
A remote that I have been pleasantly surprised with is the Inteset 422-4. The price is fantastic for it's features(back lit, programming, macros), and it has a wide beam... meaning it doesn't have to be pointed exactly at the device to be controlled.
I had a Sofabaton and spent a whole lot more for it. It worked like a laser pointer and just frustrated me at every turn.
Why Logitech dropped out of the remote business I cannot fathom. I will say I bought my 650 *NEW* from Amazon for $60 years ago. Now the same remote sells for ballpark $300. SOMEBODY is making a mint. But I must say that no universal remote comes close to it - but I'm giving second place to the Inteset.
@jrtinz Thx!. I checked the device above. It can handle 4 devices. I have 4 inputs going into a Marantz NR1409 receiver and 1 output. I need a remote that can handle a minimum of 6 devices?
EDIT: I checked the Harmony 665. It can support 8 devices and 5 activities. I hope it does not break
