@Jim1957, you should get an email when someone replies (like me!).  Find the serial number from Settings->System->About.  It probably won't match what's written on the device, but that's Roku for you.

The steps below might help:

1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
2. Scroll up or down and select Settings.
3. Select System, followed by About.

The About screen lists a lot of information about your Roku player including the serial number.

There is no serial number in the about
