Trouble finding Correct Remote

I’ve tried to reset my remote. NOTHING works. I have no paperwork any have tried several replacement remotes to NO avail. I know it’s an early version but how can I tell the model number and ONCE AND FORALL get the right replacement remote??? HELP!!!

What type of roku is it? Is its a stick? A purple stick? A black stick? There is no reset button on the remote, the button in the battery compartment is a pairing button, it resets nothing.

As @Tivoburkee said, we need to know more about the device. Describe it. Color. Shape. Is it squared off or rounded? Is there a model number on it anywhere? Model numbers are 4-digits, followed by a letter or number, such as 2050X or 4640RW or some other such. Can you take a picture of it and upload it? Anything to narrow down your actual device will help.
