Just purchased a brand new Roku streaming stick plus, and it will not pair. The stick itself works fine. When I turn my TV on, it stays on the remote pairing instructions screen. I have tried removing batteries, unhooking all cords, etc. The green light on the back of the remote never comes on. Do I need to return the roku? Or just purchase a new remote?
Hey @agimino17
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community!
Please reply here with the serial number/device ID of the Roku stick associated with the affected remote. It can be viewed at the back of the stick itself.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
All the best,
Kariza
I am having this same issue with a brand new streaming stick
If you hold in the pairing button (in the battery compartment) for 5 seconds or more and it never flashes (using any batteries), then the remote may be bad.
Follow @RokuKariza-D instructions for posting your device information here.
The battery does flash. Continuously. It never stops.
You seem to have a different issue than the OP (his remote doesnt flash at all)
Make sure you do NOT use the TV's USB ports to power your Roku (only use the supplied USB AC adapter).
Try this:
1) Take the batteries out of your Roku remote
2) Reboot your Roku (remove and reinsert the USB cable)
3) When it gets to the pairing screen or Home screen, put the batteries back in (it should flash) and hold it inches away from the Roku until you seeing "Pairing Remote..."
4) If it doesnt pair within a minute, start over (you may need do this a few times)
