Streaming Stick remote won’t pair

I recently moved back into my dorm and brought my roku streaming stick from home (which I’ve done before) but this time whenever the roku powers on it asks me to pair my device by clicking the button on the back of the remote, however there is no button on my remote model. I’ve tried taking the batteries out and putting them back in and using the app but neither will connect to be able to use the roku. Any helpful advice?

You have purple roku stick? First of all all roku sticks need a wifi remote, meaning a remote without a pairing button in the battery compartment is USELESS. And if you truly have purple stick there are no remote available for them anymore. It used a one off remote that no other roku model used and it isn't made any longer. Time to get a new roku. Stay away from roku sticks, get express or premiere that uses IR remotes. Then a simple universal remote could control them if you lose the original roku remote.
